Sports crowds up to 10k permitted from July

#205 dumbest comment ever. So the same 2400 people have been at Bunnings for 3 hours simultaneously? You sir are a tool

Years ago
I am not sure how they get to the 2400 number but seems they are just making it up.

I don't think there's any alternative to just making it up atm. Everything is estimations and tradeoffs.
Years ago

Are you saying it's not a publicity stunt? There's been more people than that at the local Bunnings everyday for the last 3 months.

Sixtiesrockstar your parents should monitor your internet access

Thought the crowd allowed for the port-crows game was a joke. I am not sure how they get to the 2400 number but seems they are just making it up. Putting such a small number of people in that stadium was just a publicity stunt. Of course they will now say that it was a success and we should be grateful for everything they have done for us.

Australia’s blacks are in no better position than America black people, both are discriminated on badly.

Ummm, so there's no truth in black people being victimised and discriminated against in America today. So issues raised for BLM is just made up.
Noone gives a fuck about democrats and Republicans and some guy going around proving who of them owned slaves. THE BOTTOM LINE IS BEING A SLAVE OWNER IS WRONG AND NOTHING TO DO WITH CURRENT AFFAIRS. INSTEAD OF YOU INTELLECTUALS TALKING ABOUT UTTER CRAP, DEAL WITH THE PRESENT.

Cool don’t hold your passion for another day. As with the dude at the Melbourne rally, catch COVID and risk spreading it. Brilliant. Unfortunately protests in Australia will do nothing. Dissect the 400+ deaths in custody and how many are actually police brutality? The stats are out there look it up yourself. As usual Australia is just rent a crowd. Holding a Flag and protesting makes nice pictures on Instagram. It does not impact cultural, political or institutional change. History has shown this. G20 rallies are a perfect example

Exactly, back in the day they had to wait for the French revolution till it was a nice sunny day, would have ruined the guillentining. Bloody outrage, should have waited for the next cop to get caught on camera cutting off the blood supply to a black person. Passion and anger are those emotions you can simply hold for another day.

B great cause, worthy cause. But protesting during a pandemic is fucking stupid and selfish.

She was murdered by an Arab copper, not white, probably also the reason he’s in jail.

Police over reacted to the incident. I guess if he wasn't participating in a criminal accident none of this would have occurred.
Why wasn't there a protest when Aussie girl Justine Damond was murdered?

All lives matter is what is often brought up against the BLM movement. The protest is about how people of colour are more likely to be singled out and subjected to discrimination. Black people in America are two and a held times more likely to be shot than white people. Then the other argument is the white Australian woman shot by a black police officer in Minnesota, why were there no riots then. Most people with those arguments say they aren't racist, they know a black person or went to school with someone indigenous.
I was born into white privilege, but I have seen first hand how black people are treated differently. I was part of a local club where a committee member stated in a meeting the biggest problem in the club were the Sudanese. A couple of other committee members who were there just smiled and nodded, wish I had said something then but was too angry and walked out.
So yes, all lives matter, but the protests are about the treatment and discrimination, not solely about the disproportionate number of black deaths in custody.

South Australia has now a false sense of security. Safe to say covid is no longer here. But when borders open there is bound to be someone from Eastern states that will bring it. And South Australians will still be in the mindset of its not here and be slack in most things that will ultimately result in clusters occuring. I would assume Eastern states people are very much proactive in social distancing etc because threat is real. But if you go to shopping centres here now, there's handshakes, hugging etc because of safety blanket of no covid. But life has got to go back to normal for economy. But won't be long before people will be scared to go to shops and everyone is in masks again.

#092....Oh look....another dickhead ^

But we are our own state with our own rules which should be set accordingly rather than just following the Eastern states. It's been nearly 2 months since anyone from SA tested positive. Hundreds and thousands of people go to work everyday, thousands going to school everyday, all the people just trampling through supermarkets and shops everyday, life is normal, but sport, thats a no no.

@koberulz
not much risk in Adelaide as nobody has it. They keep testing people to try and find but come back with nothing.
Adelaide is not the entire country.

Sports are back woohoo but now COPS got cancelled. Always one step forward, two steps back.

Everyone still has to go in the same doors so if anyone does test positive there's still a risk to the entire venue. So it's wise to keep total numbers down.

Before we get too excited. Does not help Domestic, Big V, VJBL etc as still non contact training only.

25% only?

Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and to some extent Adelaide would be bleeding money next season.

And how is the ticketing logic going to work?

If I go with wife and 2 kids, no distancing required between ourselves.
If I go with 3 mates, we need to distance?

What if I paid for really nice seats but it pushes me back to the next section up due to spacing?

Years ago
It's up to 25% capacity for venues 40,000 seats and under. So RAC for example could take 3,500. At least that's how I read it.

Yep, that's my understanding too.
But does he have any authority anyway? Would this not be a state-by-state thing just like pretty much everything else is?
(eg. the venue limit in WA is 2 square metres per person, not 4)

Former Brisbane and Gold Coast coach Joey Wright was believed to be among candidates to replace Beveridge if he chooses to accept a job offer from overseas.

But Wright today accepted the post with the Adelaide 36ers.

Wright was one of the leading contenders for the Wildcats job following Scott Fisher's shock resignation in 2008, but ultimately opted to re-sign with Brisbane.

Brendan Joyce has also been linked to the Cats' job.

Beveridge is considering options to coach in China and the United States and has attracted interest from other NBL clubs, including Adelaide.

Beveridge is technically contracted to the Wildcats until June 30 but is on annual leave until Thursday and could not be contacted yesterday.
