Is NBL1 on par with NCAA Div 1 Basketball ?
That Sutherland team was no good, though that same team beat the Kings by 15 the same week too, prob not the best measure, sure there have been other teams that have played college teams in exhibitions before? North Sydney lost by a few to a college few years back

It will be in 2021

Waratah League is not NBL1.

Run for money from elite is more on the mark

"Crush nbl teams??? Please explain"
The elite Div1 teams would give many NBL teams a run for their money.

A lot of people especially Americans always overstate the standard of NCAA probably because it's a billion dollar organisation and they ram the games down people's throats. Amateur kids vs professional adults, keeping in mind the vast, vast majority of players in NCAA will never be good enough to play basketball professionally.
College teams come out here every off-season and play against NBL teams with no imports sitting their Top 8-9 rotation players virtually a team of development players and usually get beaten only occasionally do they win.
Sure those college teams might not be the absolute cream of the crop but send the best teams college has to offer out here put them up against full strength NBL teams and they would get flogged.

Yeah top colleges - they'd blow NBL1 out of the water.
But actually some of those mid-major and low major teams are actually pretty ordinary - the mere status of being a D1 team carries their reputation a bit;

Lot Australian players come back from D1 colleges and can’t make nbl1. There might be the odd college but not many that would compete.

The top 30-40 teams in D1 would beat NBL1 teams. The rest would struggle.

Div 1 teams would absolutely crush a NBL1 team
Sorry but have you watched Div1 teams in most conferences, both men and women.
First off the age average in NBL along with experience is greater than any college team.
In the stringer conferences, you really only have three teams that are actually any good, the NCAA tournament phases prove that, college kids that come over here to play in NBL1( SEABL) and WNBL struggle with the physicality at first

So many variables to this question. For most NBL 1 conferences there is a massive difference between the top 3-4 teams and the bottom 3-4 teams for example. I would say in the old SEABL a top SEABL team would compete with an average Mid Major but get smashed by a good high major.
NBL1 teams teams, other than the top 3 or 4, in SA, as they stand last year, would mostly be smashed by most levels of NCAA D1 teams.
Interesting question though, lots of variables to this. To give more context what are you asking for? Just general curiosity or is the a specific reason?

Depends on the teams playing. I don’t think NBL 1 sides would get crushed, I think it’d be competitive.
Your top 10 NCAA sides or so may win “comfortably” but remember it’s a bunch of young blokes vs a mix of veteran aged guys and some young ones.

Seems to have created a bit of an incident with a few Kings PR people (PR guy and a Kings evangelist) on his way out.
Not sure if all the tweets are still there, but you can try to guess with a search of "aaronbruce11". Bit of excitement for the end of the NBL week. @mwprmark is AFAIK the Kings PR/media guy.
“@mwprmark: @aaronbruce11 just tried to DM you but it would not let me. Pls delete your retweet of the Ewings comment. Thanks. M.” Why?

@aaronbruce11 because you are still contracted and the Ewing do promo work for us and I don't want to have another issue to sort out.

I missed the early fun, but there appeared to be something of a dispute between Bruce and a guy from Home & Away plus his wife (who are both very supportive of the Kings) about who actually knew Andrew Bogut better. I hope I'm not getting this wrong, because it seems pretty juvenile. Here's part of the conversation and a fan response:
Wow... Publicly abusing some of ur highest profile ticket holders isn't a good career move........ Brain please for table 2....

Where to for Aaron Bruce from here? He's rated 7 points, FWIW.
