SBL Clubs divided over NBL1
There is a grace period on conflicting sponsors.

As previously said, itlll take sometime to even out conferences.

I was going to say I noticed Mackay were going to keep McDonalds as a main sponsor when they are a rival to Burger King, so the sponsor issues shouldn't be too big to overcome if they allowed competitors to the main leagues sponsor be in the NBL1

Wa will join once parties come to terms on Grey areas. Just like Qld did.
Vic currently aren’t playing under this agreement. They are being proposed the same as WA for next season and beyond. Will be interesting to see if they are presented the same proposal and give the same feedback on concerns.

Sa has already joined months ago.
Only nsw and wa remain.

Any updates on what SA and NSW approach for 2021 is, are they joining or having the same hesitations as WA - SBL

Doesn’t look like they are saying no? Just want some amendments to what’s proposed? That would be just doing your due diligence. Signing up to any deal on behalf of a not for profit with a for profit entity without going back and forth, would be a ‘no brainer’.
Blindly entering an agreement which could compromise your clubs future would be more brainless.

They do as the exposure is better as well as why do so many players play in the NBL1 South when they could play in there local state league instead ?
Do agree that the whole betting sponsors and dropping sponsors is an odd one and they should allow teams to get their own sponsors or assist teams to get reasonable sponsors

We need all the state leagues to move into the NBL1 bracket and within several years all the leagues should slowly even themselves out as the players will stay to play locally then to move around for a slightly stronger league. Always Victoria will most likely be slightly ahead everyone

I don't claim to speak for anyone involved in SBL.
Since you stole our team, we nolonger have representation in the SBL. #FUjoondalup.
My personal view is as follows:
I urge caution, and "eyes open" when considering any such proposal.
The idea that clubs will need to drop sponsors is a huge concern.
Gambling destroys lives and families. Any association with betting should be shunned.
Fwits like Summerville have been having pipe-dreams about a "2nd tier national competition" since Cook. It's a nonsense.
A limited national championships of All-star teams has merit, but that doesn't require rebranding or ceding control.

Why would players care about the name of the league?
Are there any actual specifics available, or are we all just picking a side for no real reason?

A few of NBL level and NBL1 South players are showing interest in playing in NSW for 2021 as they have been provided reassurance that it will be rebranding to NBL1 next year

What is bizarre there greatest concern is losing players to other state leagues if they rebrand, but its most likely they will lose players if they don't rebrand as the SBL will fall behind further

I just realised OP is Dazz who always has a weird take on everything. Carry on. #Jolves

OP how is Summerville calling the proposed move a "no brainer" causing confusion? He even clarifies his position in the last paragraph about losing players. Crystal clear.
Wait Awhile will lag behind the other states if SBL doesn't join NBL1.

Wolfpack should have gone national long ago, a backwards league holding it down.

Idiots if they back out

For those who don't know, Kyle Miller is the import point guard for Centrals. I watched him play a week ago against Norwood and was impressed with how quick he was, how he consistently got teammates good looks and how he scored the ball inside and out. He had something like 35 and 7 this weekend against West. I wasn't at the game but I imagine Cadee probably guarded him? Wonder if anything thinks he'd be worth it as a (very) cheap import at NBL level. I would've thought the Sixers could have invited him to be a part of the training squad atleast for training bait?
Curious to here thoughts!
