36ers sign Wheeler ... pay far too much!
Has everyone got the facts right. I wonder if the six figure sum is for 2 years. After all, we've recently learned that the club is offering 2 year contracts. If we are paying a six figure sum to Wheeler for one season only, in view of what we have lost, I am disgusted. I will probably still buy a season ticket this year because its the only team we have in the NBL but I'll be disappointed and only go to the games half hearted. It will be intersting to see what sort of a response they will get to season tickets this year.

It depends upon how much they save going from Dusty to Ballinger. At this point I am assuming that we haven't overpaid for Nash and Copeland.
David Cooper should play for half of last year's money too, in lieu of the f*ck all he did in the second half of last season.
What does a graphic design job pay, as I seem to remember reading that the Dragons offer to Wheeler was $60K ish PLUS potentially a graphic design job. If we couldn't do the second half of that then it would explain the greater $$$.

Granted it would have been nice to get both these guys five years ago, but it depends how you look at it. Wheeler is at the very least a massive improvement on Rees. Copeland may provide the bench scoring spark that departed with Oscar. If they (I'm still referring to the Sixers as "they" rather than "us" at this point) can get Ballinger for Rychart and Pero for Holmes then we won't have done too badly, considering the financial constraints.
A lineup of:
Maher
Farley
Ballinger
Pero
Wheeler
Cooper
Nash
Hill
Copeland
Hambour/Gower/Gerlach
I don't think this would be that bad. But that, as I said, is based upon them getting Ballinger and Pero (or two other comparable players).
The next two signings will be the key.

can u confirm this or are u just meesin with us?
please i would like to know as soon as possible. Can Issac or anyone else verify this claim?
