ABL All Star Game.

All the clubs have been notified through their senior delegates, that's how it got into the Norwood newsletter. BASA has approved it. I have sent an email to all the coaches (see fact man's posting) and so far have had replies from Woodville (m & w), Eastern (m & W), Sturt (w), Forestville (m) and South (men only as their club is having a dinner on the 21 August and can't get out of it). If some of you poster's know the coaches of the teams that haven't sent me their selections, can you please give them a bit of a push. Thanks
The next step is to get the names of all the players onto the sixers site so that voting can begin. Hopefully I will be talking to the web masters of that site and try and get it up by the end of the week.
We also want to have links from any club site to the voting site as well and therefore will appeal to all clubs that have web presence to do that.
The all star starting five teams will be announced at the Halls/Woolacott dinner on August 14.
The presidents know about it as one of them is on the committee. I will ask permission of the committe if I can name them. Stay tuned.
To make this a half decent succes, time is of the essence.
The whole basketball community should get behind this and not only the Saturday night game, Champions vs 36ers and curtain raiser all star women, but for the Sunday afternoon game as well, Champions vs Lightning and curtain raiser all star men.
If we have to turn people away it will mean that basketball is still alive and kicking in this state.

Dusan, the idea is a fantastic one, and looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, there will be negativity towards anythign, when people dont see it progressign the way they want, This was even displayed on the OzHoops forum for the NBL All*Star game.

But it IS a brillaint idea, and hopefully the posters here on SA Hoops will get right behind this (especially with the HMF being supported)

I'm guessing when the President's feel they need to tell the clubs, anoymous poster.

Top work, Dusan, it's a step forward for SA basketball. Dunk contest, 3 point comp etc can be built on for next year. At least the ball is rolling :)
