It's Time - Brett Maher and the 36ers
#104354
"I can't remember the last time he consisitently gave us those figures..."
How about
2005: 19, 4 and 7
2006: 19, 5 and 7
this year: 19, 5 and 6
Career: 17, 4.5 and 4.5
seems pretty CONSISTENT from where I am looking at it...

Agreed with yogee, Maher deserves to go out with honour to show the true champion he is, and i think he does have a few years left in him, he is far from a has been if he can get his body right

Maybe the players should be on a lower base wage, and have a bigger portion of the wages on a performance basis.
So if someone is out for a while, it is not going to hurt the club financially, and maybe better reward those who have to rise to the occassion.

Hang on, isn't this the same guy that everyone was talking up 4 weeks ago when he beat Wollongong by himself...give it up people, Maher should not be cut or benched, let him get over his injury/virus and you will all be eating your words...
Yogee your last paragraph could not have been said any better!

No way, a legend like Maher should never be cut, not especially when he is still prob in our top 3 players,if not our best, maybe ask him to take a pay cut and reduce his role a bit as he gets older, but yea i would never cut Maher, he is a true champion and has been incredibly loyal to the club, so we owe it to him to let him go out on his own terms i think
